well, i'm twenty

at about this time last year i was missing my bus to philly, having a meltdown, and running down the block barefoot after screaming that i was going to kill myself.
obviously, i didn't.

so far my day is going much, much better than last year.

people gave me presents last night, because i was still in my friends' suite when it struck midnight, and they counted down the last minute with me, and then sang me happy birthday, and then DE gave me a kiss, and AR&ER ran to their room to get my birthday present - a bear with my name on it. it's so sweet, and when we went on the trip two weeks ago, i kept going on about how there's never anything with my name on it!
and then DE, who was going to wait until tonight to give me his present, started freaking out because i was so pleased with AR&ER's gift and he was convinced i'd hate his. so he got his, as well as a card.

the card might be my favorite part actually, not that his present wasn't fantastic.
but he told me that he was torn between three cards:
one had a social network joke (funny because of stuff)
one had a kitten on it and the inside said "how did you stay so adorable for so long?" (which is fitting because adorable is my default setting apparently)
and the one he actually gave me is a bunch of cards inside a card - it says something to the effect of "i couldn't find a card that said how wonderful you are, but that didn't stop me from trying." (which is fitting because of DE's troubles with word-selection)

and i'm just so happy.

his present is a plush turret from portal that has turret quotes if you walk in front of it or knock it over. it's adorable and i've wanted one since i knew it was going to exist. i'm surprised he remembered, because that was before we even liked each other.

so so happy. :)

i wonder if i've made any progress toward fitting into my polka dot dress better.

i'm gonna go shower and do my nails and pick a pretty dress (because it isn't raining like my weather apps said it would!) and then go over to DE's room and finally make him a facebook.


i'm so old!
